BRC McMahon Reinforcements Ltd is the largest manufacturer and distributor of Reinforcing Mesh for Construction on the Island of Ireland. BRC manufactures mesh at two locations with the main site is in Tipperary Town and the second in Cookstown Co. Tyrone. Title                         Corporate Finance & Projects Manager

Reporting to          Managing Director

Objective of the Role

  1. Directly deliver on projects assigned by the MD
  2. To support, co-ordinate, and report on projects being delivered by other staff or external providers.
  3. To provide strong corporate finance support to the company in making key strategic decisions and in executing these transactions.

Overview of the Responsibilities

  • Responsible for delivering on projects assigned on time within budget setting a standard of excellence for project execution across the company.
  • Responsible for proper governance and compliance of all projects, ensuring that project plans, specifications, roles and responsibilities and necessary communications / documents are defined and completed to the required standard for all projects within the programme work
  • Provide relevant timely and accurate financial analysis for effective decision-making.
  • Providing strong corporate finance support to the business in dealing with key decisions and negotiations relating to banking and funding arrangements.
  • Prepare Programme Status Reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collate and monitor the full list of projects (pipeline and active projects) that comprise the Company’s programme of work, to enable prioritisation decisions to be made


  • A proven track record of success in corporate finance gained in a relevant environment, in either industry or practice or both. (5 years plus)
  • A proven track record of success in project management across multiple disciplines with strong emphasis on delivering to commercial criteria.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical and commercial concepts, manage trade-offs and evaluate opportunities and new ideas with internal and external partners
  • Highly organised and high attention to detail including precise and effective internal and external communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired
  •  History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done

Desired Qualifications

  • A Professional Accounting qualification
  • Certified in a relevant project management package.
  • Highly organised and highly developed interpersonal skills with demonstrable ability to build credible relationships with the senior managers and project teams
  • Ability to dive deep and understand the business in a changing environment both from an internal and external perspective.
  • Certified in a relevant project management package.


Appendix 1

  • Development & delivery of Strategic Plan with Management and contribute to the formulation of approved business plans.
  • Project managing all Capex Projects – Annual Spend circa €500k.
  • IT Systems & Process Development
  • Participate in the development of Projects that may consist of a variety of innovation challenges e.g.
  • New business creation
  • New suppliers/procurement sources
  • New Product Introduction
  • Business Process Improvements
